MedicAlert is a registered charity which provides people with hidden medical conditions, such as diabetes, epilepsy, implants or allergies, the peace of mind to live life safe in the knowledge that they will be protected in an emergency when vital seconds ensure quick diagnosis and can save lives.

MedicAlert Members wear a bracelet or necklet, known as an Emblem, engraved with a personal identification number, main medical conditions and the contact number of MedicAlert's response service. As a result healthcare professionals can immediately access vital medical information engraved on the Emblem and then call the emergency response service 24 hours a day 365 days a year to receive more details, including the individual medications and consultant contact information.

• Over the past 40 years more than 280,000 people in the UK have benefited from the reassurance and protection MedicAlert can provide 24 hours a day, 365 days a year

• The Membership Services team receives around 300 calls a day or 77,000 a year.

• MedicAlert produces a range of over 70 different kinds of medical identification jewellery, including dogtags, sportsbands and designer bracelets and necklets.

• The Production team produces and engraves around 18,000 to 20,000 Emblems every year, ranging from standard stainless steel Emblems to 9 carat gold jewellery.

• Usually for a charity, MedicAlert employs a master jeweller to design new products and ensure our gold and silver designer jewellery is of the highest quality.

• MedicAlert’s in-house Medical team helps Members ensure that their most vital medical information is correctly included on their Emblem and in their record and handles around 15,000 calls a year.

• MedicAlert’s emergency response service, which operates from London Ambulance Headquarters, receives around 2,500 calls every year. Each month between 15 and 20 calls are in response to a serious emergency where further vital medical information is required.
