Boys R Us
The latest edition in the Girlfriends series ‘Boys R Us' features the life-saving service of MedicAlert.
In the story written by Jean Ure, leading character Polly nearly dies from a reaction to a wasp sting. To help ensure that first-aiders can treat her appropriately if she suffers a further reaction, Polly begins to wear a MedicAlert sportsband. Wearing a MedicAlert Emblem ensures that people with hidden medical conditions are given the right treatment in an emergency, 24 hours a day.
Jean Ure says:-
‘I was quite surprised one day to receive an email from MedicAlert wondering if I might consider a storyline highlighting this very worth while, but perhaps not very well known, charity. I was more than willing to do so since coincidentally one of my cousins had recently suffered a severe allergic reaction whilst out on a country walk, and was now the owner of an epipen and a MedicAlert bracelet - just as Polly is in my book.'
MedicAlert have a wide range of Emblems to suit all tastes. The latest designs for girls include the Sweetie Bracelet, Silver Heart Link Bracelet and a range of sports bands including flower designs, camouflage and colours such as baby pink and baby blue.
