We work closely with our international partners to monitor and explore any new technologies which might improve the service we provide our Members.
What about new chip implants?
Many people are not comfortable with the invasive nature of chip systems. In addition, the technology required to read and update chip implants is not widely available at the present time.
Won't the NHS be able to provide a direct link to patient records through its new technology programme?
One of the benefits of MedicAlert's tried and tested system is that key information, rather than a person's full medical record, is available in one place making it easier and quicker for healthcare professionals to access in an emergency.
If the NHS is investing so heavily in IT shouldn't it be providing this service?
The investment the NHS is currently making in IT will undoubtedly benefit patients in the long-term, however, until centralised systems are proven to work effectively, MedicAlert's simple system which has been tried and tested over the past 40 years continues to provide vital support for over 280,000 people with hidden medical conditions and allergies.
