Statement
There are currently around 7,000 people waiting on the NHS Organ Donor Register for life-saving or life-enhancing transplants. Therefore, when a person joins MedicAlert our dedicated team of medical advisors will automatically ask them if they wish to become an organ donor, register their details if they wish to do so and provide them with contact information for the NHS Organ Donor Register.
How do MedicAlert Members register as organ donors?
MedicAlert registers a Member's wish to be an organ donor on their records but also asks the Member to register with the NHS Organ Donor Register.
How many MedicAlert Members are registered as organ donors?
Around 10,000 MedicAlert Members are registered as organ donors.
How do you work with the National Organ Donor list?
If a Member wishes to be an organ donor this is noted on their personal record. However, our dedicated medical team will also advise them to register with the NHS Organ Donor Register and provide the relevant contact details.
