This area has been designed for parents to help them understand more about how MedicAlert can be of benefit to their child.

When a child is first diagnosed with a medical condition it can be a difficult and stressful period for many parents. Unsure of how your child will manage their condition without it affecting their daily life is one of the main concerns for parents.

However, this anxiety can be eased with MedicAlert's help.

Many parents seek comfort in the service that MedicAlert provides, especially as their children gain independence through starting school, socialising more as an adolescent, moving away to university or travelling in their gap year. We realise that it isn't possible to be with your kids 24/7, however their MedicAlert emblem can be.

Our research found that one of the main reasons people decide to register with MedicAlert is because their loved one has asked them to. Even though your child is the one with the medical condition, you are often left with the anxiety and worry about how to cope with managing that condition. MedicAlert's service aims to help you manage that medical condition and protect you or your child's health with as much ease and security as possible.

Have a look at ways in which we have helped some of our younger members like Oliver, who was diagnosed with a congenital heart condition when he was a baby by clicking here.

This year MedicAlert was fortunate enough to receive the support of Strictly Come Dancing's Arlene Phillips for our campaign 'Save the One you Love'. Arlene has always been interested in the work of MedicAlert as a number of her family members suffer with hidden medical conditions. To find out about our campaigns, celebrity support and how MedicAlert has been making headlines click here.

Many parents find great reassurance in the knowledge that, should their child be in an emergency situation and are unable to communicate their condition, paramedics know to look for an Emblem and can treat them immediately.
