Joining MedicAlert as a new member couldn't be easier. 

Step 1: Choose your jewellery

Step 2: Place your order online, by phone or by post (you'll need your medical information handy, click here for more information)

Step 3: Our team of nurses will check all the information you provide and prioritise your most critical details to aid recovery in an emergency.

Step 4: Your jewellery will be handcrafted and engraved with your vital information, before being dispatched for delivery.




MedicAlert membership costs less than 10p per day, providing you with life-saving support for £32 per year.

1) Visit our online shop

2) Select a piece of jewellery and 'Add to Bag'

3) When finished shopping 'Go to Checkout' and click on the 'New Members' button

4) After completing your application form and order, you will receive a confirmation email

Once your order has been checked by our medical team, we will handcraft and engrave your jewellery and setup your electronic record. Your jewellery should be with you within 10 working days of placing your order.


 

 

Consider the information you need to let people know about in an emergency or if you can't speak for yourself.
All information given will be reviewed by our team of nurses, ensuring your details are prioritised based on the ABC principles of emergency treatment. 

Your most vital details will be engraved on your disc. If we have any questions we will contact you to discuss further, and any additional information will be stored in your personal record.

An example of information we may ask you, includes:

  • Full name and address
  • Contact details
  • Emergency contacts
  • GP and hospital contact information
  • Which piece(s) of jewellery you are ordering
  • Your wrist measurement (where applicable)
  • Payment details
  • Medical conditions
  • Medication you are taking
  • Allergies
  • Any implants you might have
  • Any other information you would like stored on your record such as your blood type or Advance Decision

How is this information held?

Your jewellery

The back of your disc will have your most vital details engraved, information that in an emergency could save your life. Information such as:

  • Allergies
  • Medical conditions

Members who have complex medical information will have their most critical details prioritised by a nurse. 

 

As well as additional medical-related information, your record can securely hold information such as:

  • Your emergency contacts
  • Implant details (i.e. pacemaker / ICD)
  • Advance Decisions
  • Any other special requirements including scanned documents

Your personal record can be easily changed to suit your needs. This is especially useful for members who may have conditions or medications that change, or those with more complicated health situations that are difficult to capture on the back of a MedicAlert disc.
