Setting up a Direct Debit will take all the hassle out of renewing for you, whilst also saving £2.50 on your annual membership of £32.

To set up your Direct Debit, simply:

  1. Download and print out our form here

  2. Fill it in with your details
    (make sure you have a look at our example here)

  3. Post it back to us at

  • For the reference field, please input your membership number (minus GB) followed by your initials i.e. 123456PE
  • Date of first payment will be taken on the 7th or 21st (whichever is closet to your initial renewal date)
  • Each year, we'll send you a reminder of your payment and check your information is up to date
  • Our Direct Debit benefit is currently only available for second and subsequent membership renewals, and is not available for your first year

Direct Debit Guarantee

  • This Guarantee is offered by all Banks and Building Societies that accept instructions to pay Direct Debits.
  • If there are changes to the amount, date or frequency of your Direct Debit, The MedicAlert Foundation will notify you 10 working days in advance of your account being debited or as otherwise agreed.

  • If you request The MedicAlert Foundation to collect a payment, confirmation of the amount and date will be given to you at the time of the request. If you request the organisation to collect a payment, confirmation of the amount and date will be given to you at the time of the request.

  • If an error is made in the payment of your Direct Debit, by the MedicAlert Foundation or your Bank or Building Society, you are entitled to a full and immediate refund of the amount paid from your Bank or Building Society.

  • If you receive a refund you are not entitled to, you must pay it back when The MedicAlert Foundation asks you to.

  • You can cancel a Direct Debit at any time by simply contacting your Bank or Building Society. Written confirmation may be required. Please also notify us.
