Most importantly, you can speak to one of our Registered Nurses directly. But, rest assured, if they spot anything about your record that they would like to discuss with you, they will contact you straight away.

At the core of the MedicAlert service is your medical record. It’s what your medical ID jewellery points to and it contains all your vital medical information including: condition, allergies, medications, history, emergency contacts and scanned documents.
When you first create your medical record, it is reviewed by one of our Registered Nurses. They also review your record every time it is updated.
They do this to ensure your safety because accurate records equals appropriate care decisions.
But what do our Registered Nurses do and why is it so important?
So, how do you check and update your record online?
Our nurses assess all of the information provided, checking that it is medically sound and prioritised for use in emergencies.
These checks by our trained nurses will ensure your medical record is clear and complete. If they spot something problematic or missing, they will contact you so that they can put it right straight away.
All this means that if a call is made to our emergency line, we can share your medical details and documents with your care providers, with confidence.
MedicAlert UK is the only medical ID provider who carries out such checks. We do this to keep you safe and give you and your loved ones the ultimate peace of mind.
Your safety is our number one priority.

Michael has type 2 diabetes and is prescribed Metformin. His blood pressure management needs to remain within targets, for those with diabetes, which requires candesartan and amlodipine. Blood cholesterol levels also need to be managed, so he also takes atorvastatin. Michael has been a MedicAlert member for several years and recently added a new medication...
When Michael made a change to his record, he triggered a nurse check. He had added that he was on rivaroxaban. This is an important medication - an anticoagulant, usually prescribed for people with a particular heart condition or a blood clot. This addition prompted the nurse to contact Michael and find out the medical reason for the change as this would be an important addition to his medical record.
Michael revealed that he had developed atrial fibrillation, an abnormal heart rhythm and had a recent stroke, all of which were added to his record by the nurse. The medication has also been flagged in his record as important. The nurse was also able to check that Michael carried an anticoagulant alert card too.
It is important that key information is included on the medical ID disc, so the nurse recommended to Michael that he should consider a new piece of ID jewellery that reads 'type 2 diabetes, stroke, atrial fibrillation, on rivaroxaban'.
Although Michael's glycaemic management is consistent with current NICE Guidelines, without the nurse check, there would be several vital pieces of information not on Michael's record, all of which could prove to be lifesaving in an emergency situation. This is why all medical records are checked upon creation and every time there is an update made to them - to help you manage your record, helping to keep you safe in emergencies.
