The MedicAlert Foundation UK has been providing assurance and life-saving support to its members since 1964.

As the original and best provider of medical ID services, MedicAlert is a small, friendly and productive charity with its own production unit and member support team including in-house medical professionals.

MedicAlert UK is based in Buckinghamshire, whilst the charity provides global reach to support members around the world.

Meet our CEO and Trustees

Kirsten Giles | CEO

Kirsten has previously worked in senior roles in IT, management consultancy, asset finance and telecoms industries. This brings a wealth of experience and a valuable perspective across the charity. She believes that supporting our members and their families underpins everything we do at MedicAlert and she has a passion for providing good service.

Helen Newman | Chair Trustee

Helen is an experienced senior manager with a track record of strategic and operational delivery at a national level. Working most recently at Public Health England and the Department of Health engaging partners and stakeholders to deliver shared ambitions and cross-sector initiatives, Helen’s background is in local government. Helen is an associate member of the Society of Local Authority Chief Executives and Senior Managers (SOLACE).

Anne Gill | Trustee

Anne is a Senior HR Executive with over 20 years experience at Board level and is currently Director of Kinisi Ltd, an HR Consultancy specialising in leadership coaching and organisation development. Prior to setting up her own business, Anne was Executive Director of HR Operations for EMEA and UK HR Director for Avon Cosmetics Ltd, and was chair of the Avon Pension Trustees. Anne has a BA (Hons) from the University of Leicester, is a Fellow of the CIPD and has post-graduate certificates in coaching and counselling. She is in her final year of a Masters Degree at Oxford Brookes University.

Benet Hiscock | Trustee

Benet is the Director of Public Information for the House of Lords. He is responsible for developing and delivering the external communications strategy of the House of Lords, and providing politically impartial advice on communications and media management to the Management Board, Lord Speaker and members on domestic and select committees. He leads the press and media, marketing and outreach, and public enquiry teams, and oversees the delivery of House of Lords' communications objectives through the four shared parliamentary public information services.

Charlotte Willis | Trustee

Charlotte has over 16 years of Technology and Financial Services project management and business operations experience and currently holds the position of Global Business Manager, Technology for Schroder Investment Management Ltd. Charlotte took part in the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race in 2016 and is a keen travel and sporting experience enthusiast. As a MedicAlert trustee she is passionate about delivering high-value services to our membership and both contributes to and supports the charitable vision and objectives of the organisation.

Janis Hill | Trustee

Janis is a chartered accountant and experienced Finance Director, who has worked for over 25 years in the charity and not for profit sector. She has held Finance Director roles at The Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) and Stowe School, and has extensive experience of financial strategy, planning, management information, project work and compliance. Janis is a Fellow of ICAEW and is involved in various voluntary work in the Milton Keynes area.

Ian Henderson | Trustee

Ian Henderson is an Independent CIO/CTO IT Director with over 25 years of experience at Board and senior management level implementing Change & Transformation Programmes across both the Private and Public sectors. Before starting his own partnership in 1998 he worked in a wide range of industries ranging from metals to direct sales. Ian was a founding member of the Institute of Interim Management. He is a Chartered IT Professional and a member of the BCS IT Directors (Elite) and Mentoring groups. Ian is a qualified Programme & Project Manager and a member of the Worshipful Company of Information Technologists.

Stephen Galiano | Trustee

Stephen is a chartered clinical psychologist with 25 years experience of working in the corporate wellness market with multinational organisations around the world. He was the global CEO and co-owner of a healthcare company, building subsidiaries and joint venture partnerships in the UK and in 14 other countries around the world. After the business was sold in 2008 he led the merger of several large subsidiaries and was responsible for creating a new brand, expanded market proposition and global leadership team and for leading a new organisation with 800 employees. Since November 2017 Stephen has been on the board of an independent global US healthcare company, responsible for strategy and global relations. Stephen is also a magistrate in Northamptonshire and sits on the board of several local charities.

Caroline Sheridan | Trustee

Caroline has held a number of senior executive positions with BT including CEO, Payphones and Director of Group Corporate Responsibility, where she launched the first UK major no fee online fundraising service to enable charities grow online donations. She brings a wealth of commercial and transformation experience. Caroline is a qualified marketer and also has an MBA. Caroline is a Non Executive director for Aldridge Education.
