MedicAlert at the 19th UK Dementia Congress 18 November 2025 MedicAlert Supporting carers with confidence through the Herbert Protocol 17 November 2025 - MedicAlert was proud to join leading voices from across the dementia community at the 19th UK Dementia Congress in Manchester. As the largest annual dementia-focused event in the UK, the Congress brought together people with lived experience, carers, health and social care professionals, researchers, community organisations and innovators. It was a vibrant showcase of new ideas, compassionate practice and shared commitment to improving the lives of people living with dementia. At MedicAlert, our purpose is to protect vulnerable lives through trusted emergency information that brings clarity when it is needed most. Your safety is always in reach, and it provided the perfect opportunity for us to highlight the vital role of the Herbert Protocol in supporting carers during moments of uncertainty. Hannah Colton on the Herbert Protocol MedicAlert COO, Hannah Colton, delivered an engaging presentation to delegates, focusing on the importance of the Herbert Protocol and how it empowers carers with guidance during missing person emergencies. Her session explored how the Protocol acts as a lifeline when someone living with dementia goes missing, ensuring crucial details are recorded in advance and can be shared swiftly with the police. Hannah emphasised the peace of mind that preparation brings. When information is accessible and accurate, carers gain the confidence they need to respond quickly in stressful situations. This aligns closely with our vision at MedicAlert, for a world where no medical condition limits a person’s confidence, dignity, independence, or safety. Meeting the dementia community Throughout the event, MedicAlert Nurse, Emma Brewer, was on hand to speak with attendees about how our service helps people living with dementia remain independent while ensuring the right help is available in an emergency. Emma spent time answering questions, offering guidance and highlighting how MedicAlert provides reassurance for both individuals and the people who care for them. We were privileged to stand alongside an inspiring group of organisations shaping the future of dementia care. Exhibitors included Alzheimer’s Society, NAPA, PJ Care, Compass Associates, yourhippo.com, Reading with Dementia, Ally Transforming Residents Lives, MAC Clinical Research, Exemplar Healthcare, Sensio, Smart Socks, Relish Wellbeing, Dementia Adventure, Creative Dementia Arts Network, Pain Check, Namaste Care International, Symphony Hearing, the 3 Nations Dementia Working Group, OMI and Music in Mind. Our ongoing commitment Being part of the UK Dementia Congress reaffirmed why MedicAlert continues to champion accessible, trusted protection for people living with dementia and their carers.
