The Safe and Found Programme

In partnership with Thames Valley Police, MedicAlert is proud to announce the Safe and Found programme. The programme supports people living with dementia to provide a quick and safe return home.

All members can store their Herbert Protocol, the form used by the police nationally to narrow down the search for a missing individual. By holding this on your MedicAlert record, police can access your vital information without delay.

Completed by yourself or one of your carers, the Herbert Protocol provides peace of mind to your loved ones, as they do not need to remember vital details when under stress.

"It is important to remember that a diagnosis of dementia is not just a diagnosis for the individual, but a diagnosis for the whole family."

Medical IDs to keep you safe

The Forget-Me-Not

If you're worried about forgetting to put on your ID each day or losing it, the Forget-Me-Not is the perfect ID for you. Featuring a split-ring clasp that ensures the bracelet cannot be removed without assistance, the Forget-Me-Not will need someone to help you put on and take off the bracelet.

The Carer ID

We know many of our members have carers. It is important that you and your carer know you will be safe and taken care of, should they have an emergency. That's why we have created the Carer ID to be worn by the carer of a MedicAlert member, providing everyone with peace of mind.

"So happy to get my MedicAlert ID & wallet card with my medical conditions and emergency contact details on today. It’s taken a lot of worry off my mind now."

Tommy Dunne MBE
