Men’s Health Week 2025: Let’s Break the Silence

11 June 2025 MedicAlert

Your voice, even when it’s hard to speak.

Men’s Health Week 2025  is a national campaign dedicated to raising awareness about the challenges men face when it comes to their health, especially their mental wellbeing.

This year’s campaign, led by the Men’s Health Forum and supported by organisations like Mates in Mind, is calling for a national Men’s Health Strategy - one that focuses on prevention, support, and cultural change.

At MedicAlert, we believe men shouldn’t have to navigate these challenges alone. We’re here to support you, and those you care for, with tools that bring clarity in moments of confusion and reassurance when it’s needed most.

The Statistics We Can’t Ignore

The figures behind Men’s Health Week tell a story of silence, stigma, and urgent need:

  • 1 in 5 men in the UK dies before the age of 65 (Men’s Health Forum)

  • 4 in 5 suicides are by men — it’s the leading cause of death for men under 35

  • 50% of men have struggled with mental health, but less than half have sought help

  • 37% hide mental health challenges from their partners

  • 30% don’t know where to turn for support

These aren’t just statistics. They’re real stories, real struggles - and too often, they go unheard.

Why Men’s Health Week Matters

There is no health without mental health. But many men still feel pressure to stay silent, push through, or avoid asking for help. This week is about breaking that cycle.

It’s about starting conversations in workplaces, at home, with friends, with ourselves.

At MedicAlert, we’re proud to stand with men who are taking steps to protect their wellbeing, and with the families and carers who support them.

How MedicAlert Supports Mental Wellbeing

For many people living with a mental health condition whether it’s depression, anxiety, PTSD, bipolar disorder or beyond - communicating clearly in an emergency can feel overwhelming, or even impossible.

MedicAlert provides:

  • A medical ID that discreetly shares key health information

  • A nurse-checked, secure medical record, accessible 24/7

  • The option to include details of mental health diagnoses, medications, and even emergency care plans

  • Coverage in over 100 languages for travel or multicultural settings

We help take the pressure off - ensuring vital details are ready if you can’t speak for yourself.

You Are Not Alone

We all have a role to play in changing the way men experience mental health - from stigma to support, from silence to safety.

This Men’s Health Week, we’re encouraging every man to take a step forward. That might be a conversation, a GP visit, or simply adding your mental health information to your medical ID.

Whatever it is - it's a step toward clarity, dignity, and confidence.

Because your health matters.
Because your voice deserves to be heard.
Because you are not alone.
