Helping shape the future for people with epilepsy

MedicAlert Protection Programmes | Support Those in Need

Epilepsy is one of the most common brain conditions in the world and affects around 630,000 people in the UK. Approximately around 80 people are diagnosed with epilepsy in the UK every day.

Epilepsy Action have been fighting to improve the lives of people with epilepsy for over 70 years.

By 2030, the charity's mission is for everyone in the UK to know what epilepsy is and how they can support people living with that condition.

How Epilepsy Action can support you

Support groups

Epilepsy Action offers online talks and support groups. This is a great opportunity for people to connect with others that have had similar experiences with epilepsy in a secure and relaxed environment.

The virtual groups offer a warm space for you to listen and talk with others, sharing your experiences with epilepsy.

Befriending

This service from Epilepsy Action matches you with a friendly volunteer for regular chats online or by phone.

If you are over the age of 18 and live in the UK, you can access the befriending service if you feeling isolated, lonely or just need someone to talk to. This can include people living with epilepsy themselves or are caring for a close family member with that medical condition.
