Shaping the future of healthcare at the Long Term Conditions Forum

24 June 2026 MedicAlert

When you or a loved one are living with a long-term health condition, navigating daily life can feel unpredictable. In an emergency, there is a constant worry that the professionals who come to your aid will not know your full medical history or your specific requirements.

The weight of medical uncertainty

This uncertainty can quietly chip away at your confidence. It can make everyday activities feel like a risk, leaving you feeling vulnerable and your family constantly concerned about what might happen if they are not there to speak on your behalf. You deserve to live your life to the fullest without this heavy burden of anxiety.

Advocating for you at the highest level

To solve this, MedicAlert works tirelessly behind the scenes to champion your safety and ensure your voice is heard at the highest level of the healthcare system. Yesterday, our Chief Executive Officer, Rob Burley, and Michael Bradfield, who is the Deputy Chief Paramedic for the South East Coast Ambulance Service and a former MedicAlert Trustee, spoke at the Public Policy Projects Long Term Conditions Forum.

Michael Bradfield speaking at the forum

Held at the prestigious British Medical Association, this vital event brought together health professionals, patient groups, charities, and policy makers to discuss how health services can better support people living with complex conditions.

Linking physical identification with digital care

Rob and Michael educated these healthcare leaders on the unique role that our charity plays. They explained how our physical medical identity jewellery, which is placed on vital pulse points, links directly to your secure digital record. They also highlighted our passion for working in partnership with every area of the National Health Service and emergency services. This ensures that first responders know exactly how to utilise our global twenty-four-hour emergency line, which is available in over one hundred languages.
