  • MedicAlert jewellery is always worn on your pulse points, and the front of each disc carries our international medical symbol; this ensures it's spotted promptly in an emergency
  • The back of the MedicAlert disc would be engraved with 'TYPE 1 DIABETES' or 'TYPE 2 DIABETES', our emergency telephone number, any other conditions or information as well as your unique membership number used to identify your personal record
  • The emergency line is available 24/7, 365 days a year to first responders, police and healthcare professionals with translation services in over 100 languages and dialects. Wherever you are in the world, we can support you.
  • Your personal record is as unique as you, with the flexibility to hold a variety of information such as:
    • Health related conditions
    • Allergies

Signs of hypoglycaemia

Low levels of blood glucose must be treated quickly to regain good health. Below are just some of the possible signs of hypoglycaemia:

  • Unusual hunger
  • Feeling sweaty
  • Changes in mood including confusion or irritable
  • Trouble with concentration or vision
  • Unusual dizziness, tiredness or shakiness
  • Paleness
  • Tingling in the lips
  • Palpitations or faster pulse
  • Behaviour that might be mistaken for drunkenness

Signs of hyperglycaemia

High levels of blood glucose, left for extended periods of time can cause long-term damage so it is always best to check your glucose levels regularly.

Below are just some of the possible signs of hyperglycaemia:

  • Increased thirst and/or urination
  • Unusual tiredness or weakness
  • Impaired vision
  • Headaches
