As a charity, MedicAlert's purpose is to help save lives and care for those living with medical conditions. There are thousands of vulnerable individuals throughout the UK who could benefit from the peace of mind we provide but, unfortunately, have difficulties doing so due to their financial situation.
Leaving a legacy gift in your will would be an incredibly generous way to support those in need of our service.
Legacy donations are a thoughtful and kind way to provide support to those in need.
£36 is all that it takes to support a vulnerable individual for an entire year.
Just £1,000 would provide 31 people with MedicAlert membership for a year.
If you decide to leave some money to MedicAlert, you will need to include this in your will. Your may need to let your solicitor know so that they can make the necessary changes.
Below are two suggested wordings which you may wish to use when updating your existing will:
Leaving a share of your estate in your Will
I give to MedicAlert of Suite 1, Liscombe South, Liscombe Park, Soulbury, LU7 0JL, registered charity number 233705 [all/ __% of the residue] of my estate absolutely for its general charitable purposes and I declare that the receipt of the treasurer or other proper officer at MedicAlert for the time being shall be a sufficient discharge to my executor(s).
Leaving a cash gift in your Will
I give to MedicAlert of Suite 1, Liscombe South, Liscombe Park, Soulbury, LU7 0JL, registered charity number 233705 the sum of [specify words and figures] free of tax for its general charitable purposes and I declare that the receipt of the treasurer or other proper officer at MedicAlert for the time being shall be a sufficient discharge to my executor(s).
